ACCESSING CARE THROUGH OMC

At The Obsidian Milk Collective, lactation support is approached as both clinical care and foundational maternal-infant health support—not optional, not secondary, and never one-size-fits-all.

This consultation is designed to meet you wherever you are in your journey—whether you are preparing prenatally, navigating the early postpartum period, or seeking support months into your feeding experience.

During this 60-minute session, we will take a comprehensive look at your feeding goals, concerns, and current experience. This may include latch support, milk supply concerns, pumping guidance, bottle transitions, or planning for returning to work.

Together, we will create a personalized care plan that is responsive to both you and your baby.

To support continuity of care, one 30-minute follow-up visit within 7 days is included. This allows us to reassess, make adjustments, and continue supporting your progress—because lactation is not a single visit, it is a continuum of care.

At this time, consultations are offered at no cost through our Feed Without Barriers Initiative, which works to reduce financial barriers and expand access to comprehensive lactation support.

As this initiative grows, we are actively building toward a sustainable model that ensures ongoing, accessible care for families.

Our providers bring expertise in complex feeding concerns, perinatal mental health, justice-centered lactation care for Black families, LGBTQ+ families, lactation after pregnancy or infant loss, body autonomy, intimacy, and more.
